Reminder: Our regular services

Over the last year, we have established a number of regular services beyond our Sunday morning service. Not everyone might be aware of them yet! So, here is a current overview.

(We also update our website calendar monthly.)

Online:

Wednesdays, 8:30 AM

Morning Prayer on Zoom (ca. 30 minutes).

The link to the Zoom meetings is published monthly in our newsletter, the STB e-News. If you do not receive this newsletter yet, but would like to, please get in touch with us at info (at) anglican-church-hamburg.de.

In person at Zeughausmarkt:

Thursdays, 12:00 PM

Mid-week Service

Holy Communion (BCP), said service (ca. 30 mins, with optional tea and coffee time after the service)

Please always double-check the calendar for the mid-week service, because while we do offer this service regularly, there are occasional gaps when it does not happen.

Sundays, 10:30 AM

Sunday Service

Choral Eucharist – with Junior Church!

Every third Sunday of the month, 03:30 PM

Choral Evensong

With the STB Choir or, on occasion, a visiting choir.

The Church Rota needs you!

Not only have we moved back onto our own building, but we have also recently re-started our traditional tea and coffee time after the Sunday service. This also means that our church rota is back, and we are always looking for people for any of the following tasks:

  • Readers
  • Intercessory prayers
  • Crucifer
  • Sides people
  • Flowers
  • Tea and coffee

If you can help with any of these, please simply sign up – you can find the current rota on the notice board at the entrance.

Thank you in advance, we appreciate your support!

Save the Date: Church Picnic on 26 June

We are going to have a church picnic on Sunday 26th June, after the morning service, in Planten un Blomen.

At last, a chance for us to relax and ‘get together’ as the wider church community. Please bring your own food and drink, and something to sit on if you need it. We will walk across after the 10.30 service, and find a good spot somewhere in the park. Please invite family and friends, young and old, to come along and join in.

Book your place for a special Ascension Day dawn liturgy – and breakfast!

The tradition in the Church of England (Anglican Church) is to go to a high place at dawn on Ascension Day, to celebrate the ascension of our Lord. This would usually be a church tower, or the summit of a nearby hill – but we don’t have either of these, so we’re going on to the roof of the Ecumencial Forum instead.

God is gone up with a merry noise, with the sound of the trumpet!

Please email chaplain@anglican-church-hamburg.de to book your place.

Junior Church starting again on May 1st

After the long COVID-related break, we are happy to announce that we are offering Junior Church again in person, starting next Sunday (May 1st). This is when we are also going to be back in our own building at Zeughausmarkt.

If you have school-age children, please consider bringing them with you to church and letting them attend Junior Church, led by Miriam and team. They are going to meet in church at 10:30 (when our regular service also starts) and later move into our Junior Church room upstairs for their own activities.

In case you have any questions upfront, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via info@anglican-church-hamburg.de.

Back to Zeughausmarkt!

After having enjoyed the hospitality of the Michel for the past three months, we are finally going to return to our own church.

So please note that May 1st is going to be our first Sunday Service back at Zeughausmarkt.

See you there!
