This will be the second meeting of the group, and anyone who enjoys crafting is very welcome to come along. This time, the plan is to meet in the church building in Zeughausmarkt. There will be the chance to learn new skills, and/or you can bring along whatever you are already working on.

If you can, please bring a gift of food to the service with you (non-perishable). All gifts will be donated to the Salvation Army charity, as usual.

Our church building will be open again this Tuesday from 17.00 – 20.00 and on Thursday from 11.00 – 15.00 to anyone who wishes to come in and pay their last respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The open book of Condolence will also still be available. Please note that on Thursday there will also be a short Eucharist at 12:00, with special prayers for Her Majesty.
It is with the greatest sadness that we hear of the death of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll. Truly the end of an era, and of a great life of selfless service. The official announcement confirms that she passed at Balmoral Castle, this afternoon, Thursday 8th September.
Our Anglican Church building here in Hamburg (Zeughausmarkt 22, 20459) will be open over the next few days, so that anyone who so wishes can come in and pay their last respects. An open book of Condolence will also be available, should you want to leave a short personal written message. At this juncture I can tell you that the church building will be open tomorrow, Friday 9th September between 08.30 and 12.30 and 17.00 and 20.00. Also on Saturday 10th September, 10.00 and 17.00.
Her Majesty was loved and respected the world over and by very many here in the city of Hamburg and environs. She was also Supreme Governor of the Church of England, and a woman of strong personal faith. We pray now for her family, the peoples of the Commonwealth and all who are mourning her loss, wherever they may be. We will have a kick-off meeting on Thursday 22nd September in Bahrenfeld at 18.00; we’ll supply tea and biscuits. You are welcome to bring your own projects (knitting, crochet, beading etc.) to work on, or if you are interested there will also be a tutorial on bobbin-lace making from Ale (with the aim of teaching you how to make a pretty lace bookmark – see picture).
We will supply everything you need for the bobbin-lace making. If you are able we suggest a donation of 5€ to cover the cost of materials.
