The Lent course continues every Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. The course is called Faith Pictures and describes itself as “a fresh way to talk about things that matter”. Sessions will last about 1½ hours and will be held in the chaplain’s flat (Englische Planke 1A, opposite the Michel). Part of the Good Friday liturgy is the Veneration of the Cross: The women of our African community sing an African funeral chant and the cross is carried to the Altar steps in a procession. Everyone is invited to come to the front and find a gesture of prayer - whatever feels right to you. Some kiss the cross, others bow or touch it. There is nothing you could do wrong here.

Just as Choral Evensongs are celebrated with treasures of English choral music in big Anglican cathedrals there is a contemporary music setting of an evening liturgy by the American composer Marty Haugen - just for the congregation with piano accompaniment.
