Part of the Good Friday liturgy is the Veneration of the Cross: The women of our African community sing an African funeral chant and the cross is carried to the Altar steps in a procession. Everyone is invited to come to the front and find a gesture of prayer - whatever feels right to you. Some kiss the cross, others bow or touch it. There is nothing you could do wrong here.
