Two evenings with Canon Andrew Wingate OBE, our locum priest, on Inter Faith themes:
Andrew has been involved in Inter Faith engagement and theology for many years, in South India, in Birmingham, and in Leicester, where he was the founding Director of the St Philip’s Centre for Study and Engagement in a Multi Faith society www.stphilipscentre.co.uk He is the author of several books in this area, and two are mentioned below, and he will have copies with him. He is now Honorary Inter Faith Adviser in the Diocese of Chichester, and a Trustee of Voices in Exile, the main refugee project in Brighton and Sussex.

Theological, practical and mission reflections. This evening will include consideration of the Refugee situation. Andrew has written several books, Encounter in the Spirit: Muslim-Christian dialogue in Birmingham (WCC), and Celebrating Difference, staying faithful, how to live in a multi faith world (DLT) now in fourth printing). He is a long standing member of the European Churches KEK, responsible for relationships to Muslims.

Theological, spiritual, practical and mission issues. There are 900 million Hindus in the world, nearly 900,000 in Britain, and many in Germany and other European countries. Andrew has published a new book in 2014 (SPCK): The Meeting of Opposites? Hindus and Christians in the West, and taught for seven years in the Tamilnadu Theological Seminary, Madurai, South India.
