SUMMARY:Choral Evensong | all music by Felix Mendelssohn
DESCRIPTION:Psalmtune in A\nJubilate (O be joful) & Nunc dimittis (Lord\, now lettest thou)\nHear my prayer \nCelebrant: Revd Canon Dr Leslie Nathaniel \nSoprano Solo: Birte Fischer\nOrgan: Tobias Saalmann \nAnglican Consort directed by Yotin Tiewtrakul \n— \nThe Anglican Consort is especially looking forward to this Choral Evensong with music by Felix Mendelssohn which he wrote for Anglican worship: “O be joyful” (Jubilate) is the canticle for Mattins (Morning Prayer) and “Lord\, now lettest thou” (Nunc dimittis) is one of the canticles for Evensong (Evening Prayer). \nIn Germany you may have heard the Nunc dimittis in German (“Herr\, nun lässest du”) sung a capella. There is – very typical Anglican – an organ part though and that’s how we are performing on this evening.
